MotoGP, Grassilli: "We weren't ready for Marquez's statement."

"Marc said what he thinks, but we're not surprised by his idea. Pramac could've been the option for him, but it wasn't the only one. I expect Pramac and Campinoti to stay with us until 2027."

MotoGP: Grassilli:

Thursday's news was the big rejection: namely, Marc Marquez's decision not contemplate Pramac as an option for next year. Staying with Ducati in 2025 leaves Marc with two options: the first is the factory team, the second is staying with Gresini but with factory treatment.

Ducati Corse's Sports Director, Mauro Grassilli spaoke about the matter this morning with Sky TV.

"We weren't ready for this statement, just as we're not ready for many other statements from the riders," he said "They're special people, super intelligent, and they simply say what they think. In my opinion, Marc, like all the riders, tries to make his own strategy, one which is good for himself and his future."

Grassilli isn't worried about this.
"We're certainly not surprised regarding Marc's point of view. We simply took note of it, also since Campinoti's team is formidable and, at the end of the day, it's a Lenovo-clad Pramac team, run by professionals."

The fact remains that Martin' and Marquez's future is the hot topic of the weekend.
"We actually decided not to focus on the market at Mugello, but only and exclusively on the race. However, we'll discuss this issue and the strategy to be adopted with Dall'Igna and Domenicali starting next week."

With this recent statement, Ducati's scope has decreased.
"We've made several analyses in recent months, and Pramac was one of the possibilities, but not the only one. There are others, and we'll see what the evolution of the situation will be. Like I said, by this summer, we'll give an answer, taking our time."

Finally, an opinion on what Campinoti's future will be.
"I expect Paolo Campinoti and Pramac to stay with us, at least for the next two years."
