MotoGP, Rigamonti, Marc Marquez's new track engineer

Rigamonti is currently Bastianini's technical engineer. We can't rule out that several others will end up on the factory Ducati team from the Gresini team, like Ortiz and Sereni.

MotoGP: Rigamonti, Marc Marquez's new track engineer

Marco Rigamonti, Enea Bastianini's current track engineer, will now also be Marc Marquez's engineer in his adventure on the factory Ducati team starting in 2025. Born in Lombardy, prior to being hired by Borgo Panigale, the Italian track engineer had worked in Suzuki with Andrea Iannone, and then moved on to the Pramac team to follow Johann Zarco.

Along with Marco, the Spanish rider will be supported by his trusted crew chief, Javi Ortiz, who's been with him since Honda. According to Motorsport.com, Mattia Sereni, now his electronics engineer, will also be joining him in Ducati.

During the Dutch GP weekend, Marquez made it clear that he relies entirely on Ducati's decision, knowing that they'll try to put him in the best conditions to perform well.

Within the team run by Nadia Padovani, the champion from Cervera directly deals with Frankie Carchedi, who was Joan Mir's crew chief in 2020. However, since he's under contract with Gresini, he doesn't have the same freedom as others to leave and go elsewhere.

"Those in charge of the team will choose the people they deem most suitable at my side, to make sure that I perform as best as possible," the 31-year-old said during the Assen weekend. This stopped the rumors of a possible reconciliation with Santi Hernandez, who's still working in HRC and with whom the Spanish rider had won seven of his eight titles so far.
