MotoGP, Pedrosa: "Marc in Ducati? He'll immediately hit Bagnaia where it really hurts."

"Pecco keeps saying that no one has to change the tranquility and the dynamics in the garage, because he knows that Marquez is against him. We've already seen what happened after the agreement was reached."

MotoGP: Pedrosa:

Jorge Martin's and Enea Bastianini's farewells to Ducati, right after signing their contracts with Aprilia and KTM, and the multi-year partnership between Yamaha and the Pramac Racing team, were just the first effects of the earthquake caused by Marc Marquez's agreement with the Lenovo Ducati team for 2025. It's a move that's completely reshaping the starting line-up for the upcoming MotoGP season, and one that seems destined to change the balance both outside and inside the garage of the Borgo Panigale-based factory team.

It's notoriously difficult to get two roosters to coexist within the same hen house, which is precisely why former rider Dani Pedrosa believes Francesco Bagnaia hasn't taken the arrival of the eight-time Catalan champion very well. The most inconvenient of all possible teammates.

"Although he's doing well at the moment, he has a structure that's made for him to get good results," the KTM test rider stated in an interview with DAZN Spain, explaining Pecco's current situation. "He constantly repeats that no one has to change that status, that tranquility he feels in the garage, the dynamics and style of work. And he's saying it actively and passively to a rider he knows is against him, because we've already seen everything that has happened just with his signing the contract ... Yamaha with Pramac, Martin in Aprilia, and so on."

According to Pedrosa, that's a blow ready to break down all the certainties of the rider from Piedmont, who speculated on what could happen when the eldest of the Marquez brothers will make his appearance in the Red garage: "I think Marc will arrive, and the first thing he'll try to do is hit Pecco where it really hurts."

Juan Martinez is just as convinced as the Little Samurai of the big impact Marquez's arrival will have on Bagnaia.

"I think he's already doing it. The moment you have to repeatedly declare that you don't want something to change, it's because you perceive things are changing. And, as Dani says, they're changing so much that, next year, they won't have eight Ducatis but six. They might remain at the same level, but the fact that some riders have moved to other brands could make things more difficult," the former Honda technician noted.

"If Marc has all this power, it's because he got what he got," he added. "But it's inevitable that, in a garage, having such a powerful person by your side will affect you in many things, from celebrating a good result for Marc and a bad one for Bagnaia ... These are all little things that affect you and, if you're in a very stable situation, you want it to change as little as possible."
