MotoGP, Acosta: "A problem at the start compromised my Sprint"

"I hope they find a solution, because my pace was good. I had Binder's and Di Giannantonio's pace. The vibrations? They affect us, especially in the hairpins, and we have to figure out why."

MotoGP: Acosta:

After the first part of the MotoGP championship in which he managed to surprise everyone with his punctual and efficient riding style, as well as his maturity in analyzing the defects of his bike, GasGas Tech 3 team rider Pedro Acosta wasn't disappointing in Assen either. Tenth on the grid, the Spanish rider had to deal with some hiccups during the Sprint Race that, however, didn't prevent him from ending the test in the same position.

"It's hard to say what the problem was but, overall, we didn't do badly," he stated. "Having reached my goal and demonstrating that I still have the pace, makes me optimistic for the GP. Overall, I'd say I'm calm, even if several doubts remain. Can the technical issues be resolved? Whe hope so. What amazes me is why they started from the very first lap. Certainly, on such a fast track, where you need stability, that didn't help us. We made progress on the pace compared to yesterday, and we were on the same level as Binder and Di Giannantonio, but the issues prevented us from managing the performance to the best of our ability."

Other KTM riders talked about vibrations, an issue the 20-year-old rider is familiar with. "They mostly start in the hairpins. For example, I would say turn six in Qatar, turn nine at Mugello, turn thirteen in Austin, turn six and the last corner in Jerez, turns eight and nine in Le Mans while, in Barcelona, we suffered at turns four and twelve. Here, it sometimes happened to me at turn five. It's something we have to figure out and resolve, because it affects everything," he said, concluding his analysis.
