MotoGP, Quartararo; "The new engine is good, but that doesn't help in Assen"

"The bike stops better, but it's important to be agile on this track. In the last change of direction, and in the first sector, it helps us be faster but, in the very fast corners, we're still struggling. Pramac with Yamaha is a good thing."

MotoGP: Quartararo;

Although the performance of his M1 isn't very up lifting for him, Fabio Quartararo ended Friday's practice at Assen with a smile on his face. Fourth in the morning and 11th later on, he rejoiced regarding something new that has come up in the past few hours.

"The new engine helps, but not here. It does in some corners. It's important to be agile on this track," he began to take stock of his sensations. "In the last change of direction, and in the first sector, it helps us  be faster but, in the very fast corners, we'e still struggling. In light of the characteristics of the track, it won't help us."

"Even if we can't talk about a real breakthrough, we'll use it for the entire weekend. There's no reason to use the old specification. From Qatar to Mugello, we used the same, but now is when we have to decide to move to the new version. I think we'll see the first benefits in Austria in Misano," he said.

The day ended one step away from the top ten. "We're getting closer, so we just have to be patient. We're working well," he tried to be optimistic.

Pramac just signed with Yamaha. "That's one of the reasons I renewed. I think it's very positive for us. We pushed hard for this partnership, and it's finally a reality. It will help us a lot in the future, and let's not forgot that they're a champion among the teams. Being so close to such an experienced team is great."
