MotoGP, Paolo Campinoti: "Marquez's 'no' to Pramac? That's his problem, not ours."

"Marquez's option B or C? I don't see them as winning teams like ours. We've been without Marquez for twenty-two years, and we can do the same for the following one."

MotoGP: Paolo Campinoti:

Fans like to hear about challenges on the track, but the main topic in the paddock is about where Marc Marquez will end up and about his recent "niet" in possibly joining the Pramac team with the official Ducati.

The eight-time world champion said nothing negative about the Pramac team. He only stated that, if he has to remain on a satellite team, even if with the latest official bike, then he prefers staying where he is, with Gresini team.

"I hear what's being said. I listen," Paolo Campinoti, Pramac's team prinicipal, told Sky during the second practice session. "We haven't done anything. We're waiting. For what? For Ducati's decision. Then we'll act accordingly."

The consequence of this is known: Yamaha is desperate for a second team and has made Pramac an interesting proposal.

"Honestly, we're pleased to be courted. We're reigning team world champions," Campinoti emphasized.  "And it's normal that they're interested in us. We've also always improved, from year to year. It was Marquez who called himself out. The problem is his, not ours. We have the rider who's leading the world championship," the manager from Tuscany reiterated.

Paolino Campinoti continued explaining.

"Is the statement Marc's? He wants to be in a winning team? The B and C options he has (ed. obviously speaking of KTM and Aprilia) don't seem to be winning ones. I believe that my team has proven what it's worth over the years ...Gino Borsoi and the entire team have proven to be a top team. Other constructors are seeking us out, and some riders are also." Campinoti then concluded: "We've been without Marquez for twenty-two years, and we can do the same for the following one."
