Everything is ready for the start of the 2024 SBK season at Phillip Island … or almost ready: one of the two cargo ships carrying bikes, spare parts, and garage installations hasn’t yet arrived in Australia! The riders should begin testing on Tuesday before the race weekend but, for now, the ship is nowhere to be seen on the horizon. There’s some concern, as our Riccardo Guglielmetti reported, along with Denis Sacchetti, who’s psyched for the start of the season and for Andrea Iannone riding the Ducati Go Eleven

Phillip Island also has new asphalt now, so they’ll have to see how the tires behave. They’ll also have to assess the hypothesis of facing long races, with a mandatory pit stop for safety reasons, like what already happened in the past in Australia. It will, in any case, be a beginning full of innovations, with Toprak in BMW, Rea in Yamaha, Bulega debuting in the SBK, and Andrea Iannone’s return. Instead, it might not be easy for Bautista to confirm his champion position for the third time in a row, during a season that will offer lots to follow from the very first stage.
