Alex Lowes has always loved Phillip Island, and he achieved two victories today: first in the Superpole Race and then in Race2, beating Alvaro Bautista. Locatelli could’ve also aimed for the podium in this second stage, but he threw everything away when he fell at the last lap. Petrucci got on the podium ahead of Iannone, who now confirmed that he can fight for the top positions until the end of the year.

Race 2 was interrupted by a red flag caused by Jonathan Rea’s fall. He, fortunately, didn’t suffer serious consequences. Toprak, however, had to say goodbye to his hopes for the podium when the engine of his BMW failed after two laps.

Lowes left  Phillip Island in 1st place in the general classification ahead of Bulega and Locatelli. Iannone was 4th ahead of Bautista, who saved the weekend in Australia thanks to a solid 2nd place in Race2.
