MotoGP, "The Clinica Mobile will continue to exist and seek new challenges"

The structure created by Dr. Costa will no longer be in the MotoGP paddock in 2023. Michele Zasa: "I have continued his teachings, always standing by the side of the riders"

MotoGP:

The rumour that the Clinica Mobile would leave the world championship in 2023 came to us about two weeks ago, but now it's official. It was the same structure, founded by Dr. Claudio Costa and now managed by Michele Zasa, that communicated it with the following note.

From 2023 the Clinica Mobile will no longer be present in the MotoGP paddock. A decision that took us by surprise and for which, perhaps, we were not prepared. But how can you be ready to leave what you love and are passionate about?

Since its foundation in the seventies, the Clinica Mobile has always been an important point of reference for riders and professionals. The paddock owes a great deal to Claudio Marcello Costa because it is thanks to his “home of the heroes of the mythological world of motorcycling” that today the international circuits have reached high safety standards and are adequately equipped to carry out first aid on the track. Over the years, the Clinica Mobile has been able to evolve and adapt to the inevitable changes in a world that runs fast. We are really proud of what we have done and of the help offered to the riders, on and off the circuits.

We are grateful for the many messages of solidarity received in these days and we would like to thank anyone, in public or private form, who has made us feel their closeness.

Clinica Mobile will continue to exist and seek new challenges. In the meantime, we face these last rounds of the championship with a lot of emotion and already with a hint of nostalgia.

Michele Zasa, Medical Director of the Clinica Mobile, said: “From next year, unfortunately, we will no longer be present with the current structure in the MotoGP World Championship. This obviously saddens me but, at the same time, it represents an opportunity to reflect on the good things we have done in recent years in which I succeeded Dr. Costa in managing the Clinica Mobile. They were difficult years, complicated for a thousand reasons, not least the logistical problems that were even more important in the two years of Covid. Despite this, looking back, I believe I have done a good job, carrying on the teachings of Doctor Costa and the fundamental principle of willingness to be constantly at the side of the riders, and also trying to give a modern imprint to this institution created almost 50 years ago. With regret, we took note of the organizer's willingness to take a different path in a period of transformation. We thank all those who have supported us in these years of activity, first of all Dorna, Irta and all the teams who have expressed solidarity with us even in these hours ".

"On a personal level I have to thank all the people who helped me to carry on this adventure, first of all my partner Guido Dalla Rosa Prati, as well as all the health and non-health personnel who have supported me in these 9 years, allowing me to carry out the Clinica Mobile activities - he added - There have been people who have given so much to the Clinica Mobile, even before thinking about what the Clinica Mobile could give them. These people have been fundamental in our history, they are those silent heroes of whom not much is known but who have made a fundamental contribution and to whom my heartfelt thanks go. Obviously I thank the riders who have expressed their regret in the face of this situation and who, in recent years, have always given us their trust, rewarded with the results we have achieved together. The Clinica Mobile remains alive as an institution and we will operate in other ways and in other areas. And who knows, one day our roads may cross again ”.
