The Portimao GP ended with an overall victory for Martin, who took 60 points and became leader of the standings. Second step of the podium for Enea Bastianini, followed by a mighty Pedro Acosta who on his KTM put on a show overtaking champions of the calibre of Marquez and Bagnaia. The latter were protagonists of a controversial contact at turn 5 that put them out of the battle. Finally, bitterness and disappointment for the Aprilia of Vinales, who just a step away from the chequered flag broke the gearbox and lost a well-deserved podium. Manager Carlo Pernat in the company of excellent Prosecco DOC makes an analysis of the weekend just past.

Carlo Pernat's words:

"It was a great GP here in Portimao, on the podium went Martin, followed by Bastianini and Acosta. That means two Ducatis and a KTM, while Aprilia leaves with a bitter taste in their mouths. They could have fought for 2nd place with Enea. In the end, three bikes were in the lead, with the KTM having a very young and talented rider like Acosta. In his first time in Portimao in MotoGP, despite Marc and Pecco's crash, he took a podium that not many expected. We will see in the next GPs whether he will encounter more difficulties, but today he did not show any weakness. In Ducati, the battle for next season is between riders Martin, Bastianini and MMarquez. Today Martin took the win leading the race from start to finish, but the fastest on the track was Enea in the last 3 laps. The contact between Marc and Pecco could have been avoided, but neither of them was at fault, it was a racing incident. Clearly Bagnaia had something less today, but he tried to react. Will this be the first of many problems Marc will create in Ducati? Let's hope it won't be. Today the damage was done. KTM, apart from Acosta, did not shine much with both Binder and Miller, but it is difficult to make a judgment."

"Of course we can judge the riders, the race was good, with few overtaking moves and the usual battle between 5-6 fast riders. Going back to Ducati, Morbidelli is still a question mark, while Bezzecchi has not yet understood how the GP23 works. His current difficulty is the same one Enea faced last season. Overall it was a very entertaining GP, with new talents like Acosta and top duelists like Martin, Bastianini and Marquez. As for Bagnaia, we expect him to be back to the top and on the podium soon. A great start for the 2024 championship."
