Moto - News: Ducati, it’s a wrap: Lupino wins Race 1 in Mantova

It was definitely not a foregone conclusion and, yet, Ducati brought home its first MX win, specifically in the MX1 Pro-Prestige Italian Motocross Championship race in Mantova. The victory went to Alessandro Lupino, who had also set yesterday’s pole. Today, he got the better of Giuseppe Tropepe and Alvin Ostlund, both on Hondas, proving that the Borgo Panigale constructor is already able to compete with the best in a very tough sport.

So, Ducati's golden period in racing continues, opening a new and potentially triumphant chapter. In fact, the development program, entrusted to Lupino and the great Tony Cairoli, foresees them entering the MXGP World Championship in 2025, under the management of Paolo Ciabatti who, after accompanying the Ducatis to their victories in the SBK and MotoGP, now faces another challenge.

The fact that Ducati wants to do things in a big way is also confirmed by the development work being carried out on the Desmo450MX's sister bike at Borgo Panigale, and a 250 version, likewise equipped with the Desmo system, is also being created and si destined to arrive in MX2 in the future.
