America lands in tbe MotoGP with the Trackhouse Racing team after RNF was ousted by FIM, Dorna, and IRTA for alleged contractual violations at the end of 2023.
Aprilia ,and riders Raul Fernandez and Miguel Oliveira, participated in the bike presentations in Los Angeles, and even Wayne Rainey was there to celebrate a stars-and-stripes team entering the premier class of motorcycling.
“It’s a good thing for the series, as much as it is for the United States,” he stated. “This possibility had often been discussed, and now it’s a reality. The interest around it is very high. We’ll see if the team will be able to do well.”
And in the wake of this news, the number of GPs could also grow, as Wayne confirmed. “I believe that this hypothesis could come true. I know there's another track being negotiated. It would certainly benefit the US.”
We don't know if the track in question is Laguna Seca, but we do know there’s a dispute with several residents. “Those who have recently moved into the area, especially one gentleman, realized too late that there was a circuit and an airport nearby. But, in the end, I think things will be okay.”
The United States has recently been the focus of attention for the CES, the fair that brings together all fields of technological innovation, including motor vehicles. “In today’s bikes, there’s an abundant use of artificial intelligence,” the three-time world champion commented. “In my opinion, we should allow riders to have more control and decision-making power.”
Wayne finally spoke about the introduction of radio communication. “It’s not bad to receive information. It always depends on what you say to the rider. Currently, information is provided every lap, with the strategy established beforehand. I don’t think it’s necessary.”
