MotoGP, Borsoi full of praise for Martin: "He must be happy with what he has done"

The 2023 MotoGP season will be remembered for the consecration of a satellite team thanks to Pramac’s victory amongst the teams. The non-official teams achieved ten race victories.

MotoGP: Borsoi full of praise for Martin:

If there is anyone who should be celebrating 2023, it is undoubtedly Ducati. Fresh from an exceptional season in MotoGP and in racing competition in general, it achieved a double success in the premier class of the world championship, dominating with Bagnaia among the riders and with Pramac among the teams.

The boss of the satellite team Gino Borsoi himself underlined the positive aspects that emerged in these months of battles on the track, even if in the end Martin, fighting until the very end with Pecco, was unable to overtake him in the overall riders’ standings. “Jorge must be very happy with what he has done and what we have achieved together. From mid-season onwards he was the best”, were the Italian manager's words to AS.

Thanks to 653 points earned out of 900 to be assigned, the independent team rewrote the history of the sport, finishing ahead of the factory team by 92 points.

Also due to Enea Bastianini's long absence due to injury, the Iberian took home 428 points, while his garage partner Johann Zarco reached 221.

Thanks also to the changes to the regulations made by Dorna with the aim of bringing the form factor closer together and making the races livelier and more competitive, fourteen podiums were obtained, and five race victories were achieved. From this point of view, it is interesting to note that of the twenty Sunday GPs contested, ten went to non-officials.

In addition to the four first places of the reigning runner-up (Germany, San Marino, Japan, Thailand), we can also mention the three by Marco Bezzecchi of Mooney VR46 Racing in Argentina, France and India, that of Alex Rins on Honda LCR in the Texas GP , by Zarco in Australia and by Fabio Di Giannantonio of the Gresini team in Qatar. Looking instead at the first places of the official riders, eight bore the signature of the two-time world champion, two of Aleix Espargarò on an Aprilia and one by Bastianini.
