Moto2, Pasini returns to the track at Mugello: Wild card with Fieten Olie Racing GP

Mattia will be the third rider for the Dutch team in the Italian GP alongside Baltus and Van den Goorbergh. Team manager Jansenn: “I hope it’s not the last project we’ll be doing together.”

The Fieten Olie Racing GP team will be present at the start of the Italian Grand Prix with 3 riders. Mattia Pasini will race at Mugello as a wild card alongside Zonta van den Goorbergh and Barry Baltus. It’s not the first time that Pasini will be racing with the Dutch team. Last year in Valencia he replaced Baltus who was injured, and they considered that collaboration very successful, so that’s why this wild card was organized.

“After my first experience with the team last year in Valencia, when I replaced Barry, it’s fantastic to be able to race again with the Fieten Olie Racing GP colors at Mugello,” Pasini stated. “I’m grateful to Jarno, but also to the rest of the team, for this new opportunity at Mugello. Not only will I have fun, but I’ll do my best to get the best result possible.”

Team manager Jarno Janssen added: “It’s obviously great news to be at Mugello, with not two but with three riders. Mattia is obviously not a simple rider. He's a person with a lot of experience and, he’s very fast. It’s nothing new, because he raced for us in Valencia last season as Barry’s replacement. This collaboration went very well for both parties at the time. This is the basis for a new collaboration at Mugello. I think this is also very positive for our two young riders. Of course they’ll battle each other, but I think it’ll also be good for further growth. I’d like to thank Mattia for his trust. It’s an honor that he wants to carry out this project with us. And, of course, it’s also a great thing for our Italian sponsors to have him at Mugello. I can’t wait to start this new adventure and hopefully this won’t be the last project we’ll be doing together.
